We're just a website, looking to have some fun and to make money from advertising.

The purposes of this website are to present relevant local content, and to provide a professional space for Nanaimo area residents to post their content. The site is split into four main bodies:
  1. a few hundred hand-made pages about Nanaimo's geography and society
  2. a vBulletin forum about Nanaimo, in use since 2005
  3. more than 1900 local business listings
  4. a blogs platform that is still under-utilized

Although we've realized a big ambition, we should never be mistaken for an authority. Oh no.

Our interests in this project are tied to our immense pride in our city, and we're excited about providing citizens and visitors with a resource that improves their experience of Nanaimo. However, if you're having some kind of disagreement with the City of Nanaimo, or the newspapers, please don't think we care. Or rather, we certainly care — but we are not an "official" site! We do not get grants or funding, so if you find something is missing on our site, or you think a page could read differently, please contact us with a good attitude.

This website will grow immensely as time passes, so come back often! And if you have some information you'd like to share, please send it over. We would love to add your material to our site, whether it's historical narrative, comments on your favourite hikes, or articles about local events.
