Build Green To Save More Energy
Authored by Michael Peterson 1 year agoBuilt Green BC is a program offered to builders by the BC division of the Canadian Home Builders Association which has been in existence for nearly 2 years. In order to build a ‘built green home’, you have to be a registered and trained contractor. On Vancouver Island there is only but a handful. The fundamentally sound program will cost the home owner a bit more initially but will result in savings for them down the road. To register a home under the program an independent energy auditor comes out to evaluate the home and puts an EnerGuide label on the house. We recommend that you DO NOT DISCUSS the following types of information with any BUYERS or real estate agents, regardless of whom they represent, other than your listing agent:
• 1. Reason for selling.
• 2. Motivation/urgency to sell
• 3. Willingness to consider an offer less than the listing price.
• 4. Terms under which you would sell.
• 5. Relocation, timing, benefits of policies...if applicable.
• 6. Items of personal property which you "might" be willing to include in a sale.

February Proves To Be A Great Month
Authored by Michael Peterson 1 year agoVancouver Island Real Estate board is showing a 14% increase in price from February 2006, this year (2007) an average price for Vancouver Island homes was $297,189, up from $260,112 in 2006. With Nanaimo averaging $305, 599. With spring quickly approaching we anticipate the volume will increase of the listing inventory, giving buyers more options and giving us a strong March.
