Nanaimo Movie Theaters
Posted Aug 20, 2008 @ 4:11 pm, Viewed by 343 Visitors, Read 345 Times.Upon going to a 7:30 show the other night at the Galaxy Cinemas I was once again shocked at people bringing small children and infants into late, in appropriate movies. Pineapple Express is not for children - The movie is saturated in swearing, drug usage and sexuality. I thought it was hilarious, but I don't want to hear a child crying in the middle of an adult oriented movie.
Sadly enough this isn't the first time this has happened, it's happened at least 5 times now and always at adult movies where you don't expect to hear a child crying. Seeing a scary movie on a screen that big has to be terrifying for a young child or baby. Scooby Doo was terrifying enough for me on the small screen - imagine a young child watching Stop Loss (war movie) while his parents sit there smug with themselves that they didn't have to pay a babysitter.
Other annoyances at the movie theater include people talking/texting and turning there phones on during the movie. Once a girl had a 5 minute conversation at the beginning of a movie, it was really important too I heard her tell whomever was on the other side that she was at a movie .......ahhh ya you are so how about you turn your cell phone OFF! Seriously, when did people become unable to go anywhere or do anything without their cell phones? We as humans have survived many years without them and we can do it again. Anyways, I'm hoping for a more positive experience next time I go to the movie theaters in Nanaimo!!!
