The Country Club area
Red circle shows approximate location of the Country Club areaIn the late 1970's, the area's newest mall was named Country Club Centre Mall, after the Nanaimo Golf and Country Club nearby.
Today, the name is used to apply to the entire region, roughly from Labieux Rd (south) to Uplands Dr (north), and between Long Lake (west) and the golf club (east).
This region is very heterogeneous in terms of home styles and neighbourhood traits. Although it's a very central part of town, there are some very quiet neighbourhoods, characterized by split-levels from the 1980's and '90's. There are also some apartment complexes: some old and some newer.
