For the last almost six months it has said "Happy New Year". Well, today I looked out the window and it said this:
Was on the city's website and found a camera at the construction site. Very neat. (Mod edit: Link broken, removed)
Don't know if anyone else noticed that the Nanaimo satelite photos were updated on June 2 on Google Earth.
So new, the Inland (Island?) Kenworth building is there on Northfield -
But so old, the Civic Arena is still there. (although the carpenter union building? beside it is gone).
We ended up going... It was fun. The amount of information was staggering.
**The 'ocean scene' was at the beginning of the tour and the guide explained what all the fish were, they had brought in basically what you would see here in the water, and not too deep down... There was (excuse spelling...

If anyone has any, I'd love to see pictures of what Long Lake looks like today.
Over in my intro on the business forum, it was suggested I post some shots of Nanaimo I've taken, so here's a recent one I took which made the front page of the Daily News. I'm a director of the Nanaimo Astronomy Society and we are looking at having Westwood Lake a designated International Dark...

Here are a couple of pictures I took...

Didn't really see a category for night time photos so I thought I would start one. Here is one I took of the moon the other night.

Canon SX 50 for both shots.
The old existing art was auctioned off (I picked up a nice piece myself):
