Why does the Dept. Bay 7/11 close before 11?? I went on a slurpee run last night, and had to go all the way to the one by Townsite![]()

The save on in Terminal Park used to be open until midnight too.. now it's 10
Weird.......
I too thought they were open 24/7
Ask them![]()
The Save-On? The latest it's open anywhere in the province is midnight - and most locations are closing at 10 or 11 now because they are not getting the amount of customers in to justify staffing it that late in most communities.Originally Posted by Grayden

Nope we went there at 10 and already closed... we thought they were the only store open late too... they were our last resort ...
It has to do with the zoning applications for those locations, local residents need to approve such stores in residential areas thus they were only able to secure these locations by making concensions regarding their hours of operation.
I can answer this question. the three 7/11's in the north end, departure bay, and two out dover bay way used to be stores called Terry's Save Rite. When they were selling out to 7/11 they sold to them on the condition that they could not extend the hours they were open. They actually also had the area re-zoned so that after they sold they would have to get the communities approval to be open later. They did try this, however, it was like 100% to not let them stay open later. the reasoning behind it was that being open later would cause more traffic and more people to hang out there at nights. I lived in the neighbourhood through all of this.
