east wellington road. When you go down the hill off of bowen on the left hand side theres an enourmos feild. Alot of people must pick there cause last year when I went somone was nice enough to cut back al the already picked vines so that you could get into the juicy, big berries. Right across the street from it theres a road. Tons of berries all along it.

I've been thinking of getting a group-produced map together. Maybe next year.
    Spots:
    • Pauline Haarer school - east side
    • Alley behind south end of Machleary St
    • Queen Elizabeth Promenade
    • Barsby Park
    • Lots of places in Bowen Park & across Wall St
    • 5th Street, west of Boys and Girls Club
    • Along the tracks, between Hecate St and Milton
    • North end of Protection Island, on Pirates Lane
    Aw geez, they're everywhere!

(There's a big lot of fennel just north and east of the Nichol St McDonald's, too. I think the house there burned down or something.)

There's a nice patch of blackberry bushes by Long Lake. Behind Wellington Secondary is pretty good too.

Along the powerlines right of way at Cable Bay Parking Lot. Watch out for dog poo.

I've been LOVING being back on the island. SOOO many blackberries. I go for a walk to the cornerstore, and have a meal on the way. Get home and hit the toilet. CURSE you blackberries!

I saw a guy filling a 5gal bucket on the hill in front of Rutherford Mall.

The trail at beban park usually has tons of blackberries. Me and my family used to bring lots of buckets and get a whole winter supply of them when I was a kid.

    Wow, good teamwork here!
Redrose reminded me that there are tons of blackberries across Bowen from Beban, down where Northfield starts its curve toward the Parkway (not really close to Beban at all, but hey, it still reminded me). Anyway, there are trails back there - at least, there were a few years ago - there's been some kinda development there, though, right? A gas station?

    Default blackberries....

off Townsite, down toward Bowen Pk - the pedestrian bridge across the stream into the park, East of the soccer fields. It's kind of tucked away in a residential area but there are scads....
