Robby B - I will definitely give it a try but I also was hoping for something different and would have loved to see a great seafood restaurant or oyster bar etc....even a brew pub...but I don't like pizza so already i am disappointed...I also was a loyal supporter of Drift...I don't mind paying for good food, service, and aesthetic

that being said I hope to be able to eat my words...sorry for the bad pun

    Hi Wino,

That is all I ask... I also agree that a nice little seafood place would be a hit. Unfortunately the rent at 77 Skinner (drift space) and equivalent spaces doesn't allow for that kind of limited market place. I am still looking around with Danny for a little spot that we could do a seafood place in...

it was down on stewart ave across from larch st. im pretty sure at the time a current or past nhl referee owned it. i do remember u would walk upstairs to get to the restaurant. i was around the age of 8 when i think we last went there. they closed down in the early-mid 80s im sure. also im sure there were giant pictures of hockey players on the walls.

Bring back the NHL restaurant. I always wanted to go there, but never did. Something always came up.

Ate often at the NHL back in it's hey days...it was a grand place to meet friends and have an excellent meal...or a drink or two...the view over the channel didn't hurt any either...sigh...it closed down when I was living in Calgary, so it was a sad event for me to find it gone when i returned...

I always wanted to go there, but never did. That was one thing I miss about Nanaimo. The view from what I saw would have been nice. Always something came up, that kept me away from there.
