Thread: tattoo artists?

  1. #1

    Default tattoo artists?

hey, so i'm looking for a good (the best) tattoo artist in the area. i've got an old tattoo and i'd like to fix it and add to it. so the artist part of the title is most important.

    thanks!

I would recommend Transformations, beside the Wellington Beer and Wine store, near Country Club Mall.

    I wouldn't recommend Tranceformations.
Reason being is that I've had work done there myself.
Tattoo number one I was happy with. Done exactly the way I wanted it.
We agreed on the design, and everything turned out great.
Tattoo number two, not so much.
The guy ended up modifying the design of the tattoo on the fly, meaning as he was inking it into my arm. He didn't ask permission, he just went ahead and did it. It still looks good, but I am not 100% happy with it and won't be until I get it tweaked the way I wanted it to look in the first place.

I've had several friends who have had work done at Black & Blue and have been more than happy with the results.
I haven't heard one bad thing said about them, but I'm starting to hear more and more bad things about Tranceformations.
This is unfortunate, as their reputation used to be stellar.

I would have to recommend Desiree, she used to be at Tranceformations but has since started working at The Crypt Tattoo and Body Piercing in Parksville. I have had all my work done by here and she is amazing. Totally attentive to detail, great shading and immaculate lines. I think her website is www.desiretattoo.com

wow - by the look of the stuff on her site - I'd definitely consider her! Those arbutus trees on there are WICKED - I totally want arbutus like that incorporated into a tattoo on myself!

    Nice recommendation.

Like i said, I have had all my work done by here (and this is a fair ammount, probably about 40 hours or so) And i can't find a single bad thing to say about her work. She completely anal retentive about her work, makes her own needles to her own specs and will sit there with a magnifying glass for like 1/2 an hour to make sure the lines are perfect. These are GREAT! qualities to have in an artist. If you go there tell her that Christian sent you.

The tattoos in her gallery are pretty standard, it's so hard to judge quality when just looking at pictures - Do you have pics of your work by her?

the only reason i would say goto transformations would be if damon was still there i had some work done by him if your looking for a true artist he's your guy but he was only a guest there but more of a long term guest last time i heard he was planning on leaving a month ago to tattoo in LA but dates kept moving phone in and ask if he is still there if not find somwhere els to go transformations is a great place for piercings and stuff like that but there reputation as a tattoo parlor is going down the drain i find that when it comes to simple things such as tribal and basic designs anyone can pull it off but if you want some true artistry find somone else. eternal tattos has been known for there great work but i wouldent get it done by the young guy in there wait till the owners there then get inked up i think the owners name is chris heavily tattooed and an older guy opposed to the not so tattooed cocky younger guy in there most days.
