If you don't have dental and just want to get your teeth cleaned without the xrays and consultation fees, the Harbour City Dental hygiene clinic on Comox road is great and fair pricing. They also give out cards for referrals that allow you and the person that refers you $20 off each of your bills. Great people and very easy to get into. They also make it easily affordable if you can't afford it all in one shot.

They are located in the blue house at the lights on Comox and Bowen.

I like Dr. Olsen because he's got the hydro cleaner gizmo - it doesnt hurt to get teeth cleaned there. He is now off Bowen in his new building near Townsite...

We also had this same question when we recently first moved to Nanaimo. We did not want to have a bad dental experience so we looked online at RateMDs and found Dentist P. Koltronis in the Old Quarter. Let's just say some of the reviews were pretty negative for alot of dentists we found in the phone book. The ones with the big ads that we were going to call had some really concerning reviews. At Dr. Koltronis office my boyfriend had some pretty major dental work done (he hasn't seen a dentist in 5 years) and I just had a check up. Our experiences were pain free, we also found that Dr. Koltronis appears to have a genuine interest in his patients and he took time to explain things to us and showed us closeups of our teeth on the TVs they have in the dental exam room. Afterwards, he called to see if my boyfriend was ok and even left us his home number if there was an emergency over the weekend. Another good sign is that he is very busy, you can't be booked in right away.
