Photos of the Millstone aka Millstream River
I realized we don't have a thread with this river featured.
For those who don't know, the Millstream empties from the Jinglepot area, ends up in Buttertubs Marsh, and then goes past the Quarterway Pub and through Bowen Park, finally running past Barsby Park and then into the tidal estuary pictured below, which the bridge downtown (by the Tally Ho) was built to span.

I beileve the Millstream starts in Brannen Lake, and makes it way down to the ocean

It almost looks like a marsh that would be in some horror movie that takes place in southern USA.

I think similar things when I glance over it from the bridge.

riverrat, next time you kayak up the Millstream at high tide, look at those big boulders in the river just past the Tally Ho. You will see that almost 100 years ago, some people took the time to chip their names into the boulders in the middle of the river. They are there. I have seen them. They include the dates as well.
At the grassy end of the MillStream where the old mill was near the Tally Ho, you can find old mill slabs (tailings) buried in the grass. Have a look the next time. It is a treasure hunt down there.
