I gave up on Moxie's
While living in Calgary, I used to frequent moxies quite a bit as I worked in Chinook centre and it was a place that served a quick, tasty and relatively inexpensive lunch. I never had a problem there.
I have had several disappointing episodes at Moxies here in town. The last one, about a year ago, was the straw that broke the camels back. While getting the wifes car serviced I stopped in there for lunch. I was seated promptly and then ignored by the waiter who felt that hovering over a table of attractive young women was more important then providing service to other customers. After 15 minutes I stood up walked over to this idiot as he shmoozed the ladies and asked him if he actually was working my section. "Oh" he said " I thought you were waiting for someone" I was sitting at a booth with 1 menu. How he came to that conclusion, as he had not even acknowledged my presence, was beyond me. He finally took my order, which took a further 25 minutes to arrive at my table, and when it did get there it was lukewarm. I paid my bill, no tip, and on the way out the hostess said "thank you, come again" and I replied, smiling sweetly "Not bloody likely".
I haven't been back since.
