Thread: Lime in the Coconut ~ cute new boutique!!

  1. Default Lime in the Coconut ~ cute new boutique!!

I just headed into the Lime in the Coconut store on Selby in the old City Quarter. It's a Vancouver gal's dream - true boutique shopping in Nanaimo with local made and designed jewelery and duds -- You know those special finds rather than the mall finds =)
I hope there are enough clients like me so that it can stay afloat because it's just what south Nanaimo needs - SWEET CLOTHING!! I thought I should post about it because it's across from the now burnt train station as opposed to being in the Mews with the other shops..it's worth going 'round the corner!

Thanks for posting about it! Ever been to Catwalk downtown? Cute stuff there too

I love the Catwalk and also Quintessentials downtown I find both have really special finds - also the women who own those stores are always very helpful and friendly!

Usually it's kind of too expensive for me, but I got a new coat there and splurged a bit. Totally worth it. I love my new coat lol. Quintessential has the best bags in town I think!

    Default Thanks for the support!

Wow, I would love more customers like you! Bring 'em down so they can experience a touch of third world with first class quality made goods. You really need to see what our local talented designers are making these days. If you're tired of Mall shopping or want something unique or eco-friendly, this is the place.
    Can't wait to meet you!

Going shop to shop, with an OUTSIDE in between 'em, is just cooler.

Especially when we're blanketed in snow and the only people in the stores are wearing big crunchy boots and pretending everything is normal while congratulating each other on being "out in it", smiling and childlike.

    Default Hot Hot Heat Boutique!

So...riverrat, was that sarcasm? hehe cuz when you make your way through the snow and you get to Lime in da Coconut, you can be sure I have the heat cranked! haha most customers take their coat off when they get inside, so when you come you're always welcome to stay for awhile. I was thinkin' I should serve marguaritas in the summer
In the mall, everyone's all frantic and tired out from standing in line. Whereas when you shop downtown in local shops its more relaxed. I want customers to feel at home, like what I experienced on my trips to Africa. When you step into someones business, they expect you to stay and chat or hang out, noone's in a rush, it's amazing!

    Quick note:
No, I wasn't being sarcastic! I liked being out in the snow, and the subtly neat culture inside stores.
