Default Albino raccoons on Newcastle Island?

Oh yes, they are there. I have seen them on a few occasions. Once when I was a teenager. And then again when I was in my 30's.

    Anyone else seen them?

They were there, but I have not heard of them being spotted in the past year or so.

I am sure they are still there. From the Newcastle Island website.

If you’re very lucky you might see a very rare and special critter... a golden raccoon! These raccoons are much lighter in colour than a regular raccoon - they have less pigment in their skin and fur and are essentially albino.

They are very cute. The last time I saw one was on the west side of Newcastle Island. It was in a tree over looking Newcastle Channel.

I saw two eating a dead seal on the west side of the island. This was on north end of the west side on that secluded most northerly beach. I hiked there eight times last year.
The complete seal skeleton was cool as well.
