Not saying that I agree with the approach, but legal is legal, not much can be done about that.

As far as Dubya goes, he can't really sue anyone for calling him an idiot, as he'd had a hard time proving otherwise.

I would love to know how "GREEDY" Korpan has been? Has he done something that has resulted in personal gain?

Not that I know of. He's been a straight arrow all his life. Maybe too straight! And maybe that's his problem.

It would be interesting to see how you would react if someone slapped up bumper stickers all over town accusing you of corruption.

I would never go in to politics because I would probably react poorly. However, I know I would not sue. Korpan would probably have had more support if he had just taken the issue to the news rather than the courts. People would have more sympathy if he had not appeared as one yielding his political sword. Hopefully, the whole thing will die down and he will drop it if everyone says publicly how sorry they are for hurting his ego...errr feelings.

I think you will be surprised at how much support Korpan has for his lawsuit. I have talked to a large number of people on both sides of the political spectrum who are very tired of the 'anything goes because he is a politician' mentality.

If we don't start treating the people we elect with more respect, the decent people of the world won't run for office.

No one has ever shown the slightest evidence that Gary Korpan has taken any advantage of his time in office. I am willing to bet that no one will step up and offer any evidence now.

I agree dilligaf. However the problem I have is with Korpan picking (isolating) this downtown small business owner simply because she displayed the bumper sticker. That is petty.

I saw the bumper stickers for sale in more than one DT business and neither was Pirate Chips. Furthermore, I understand that the lid blew off when Korpan attended a council meeting at the RDN and observed several (more than one) vehicle in the RDN parking lot with the offending stickers on them.

Why is he not suing them? Why is he not suing the other businesses that displayed or sold the stickers. Why is he singling out Pirate Chips? Is it because she ran against him in the last election? Petty.

A Mayor should have thicker skin than that.

This is the same Mayor that belittled and swore at Bruce Sampson at a public event a few years ago because he discussed the City pushing him out of his business on Commercial Street.

Perhaps there is, but the matter at hand is the bumper sticker and for this alone I feel Korpan is out of line. There were plenty of others that were involved with or displayed/promoted those stickers downtown.

Tony Parkin has also been named in the suit. I am sure that Gary would like to add others, so those that have names could always let him know via email.
