Opposite Southgate

I'm wondering how long it'll take the real estate types to jump on a band wagon to change the name from Chase River to say....Southgate?

Lets see.....District 69 became ....Oceanside!
The Western Communities becomes.....Westshore!
Harewood becomes.......The University District!

It's every pitchman's dream : )

So, the new Country Grocer has been in there for a while now - has anyone been in there? I have. It's pretty huge! Kinda felt like Superstore without the retail side. But, better.

It's a big change for Chase River and south Nanaimo, Cinnabar Valley, Extension, etc.

And then driving back home along Bruce, and seeing the Harewood Mall transformation. Nanaimo's developing!

Anybody else find themselves referring to places by the old names regardless? I just can't seem to get to calling Nanaimo North Town Center by its new name - it'll always be Rutherford to me. Same goes to VIU - its Malaspina - I can't understand why they didn't name it Malaspina University - anybody know why?

That Rona building supply store in Chase River is coming along just fine. It looks the the main steel structure has been erected. My guess is it will be open sometime in June 2009.
