Yup NDSS. I didn't think it was that long ago '82? Because I didn't think she was 10 years oldder than me but I guess so...

Diana krall was my piano teacher a long time ago and she wasn't a very nice person, she was jelous of the fact i was a better piano player than her and she would slap my hands and yell " Don't use your thumbs " so instead of being abused i gave up my piano lessons, its a true story

I made my daughter be aboused. After what I spent to rent a sax that year there was no way I was letting her back out of class. She told me within two weeks her band teacher thumped her nose and "didnt like her."
I noted the fact her nose was the same size as ever (though tilted upwards with indignation)and asked
"and why does he not like you?" to wich she replied "he says I never practice."
So???? She didnt either. Liked to show the shiny stuff off but not actually get into playing it.
I am so glad I did not let her off the hook.
Band is now her joy and she is a pretty good sax player today.

Has anyone noticed that they finally took down thier hideous sign which was next to the library which stated all of the improvements they planned on doing?
I guess they have finally finished with thier improvements to the harbourfront plaza. I don't know why the mayor and city council doesn't fire these people for gross incompetance because i would in a heartbeat but i can't say why just yet because they might do something about it and i want them to fall on thier faces.
If anyone is bored why don't you send parks and open spaces planner Kirsty macdonald an e-mail and ask her just what exactly is that red box that sits in the courtyard for no apparent reason because everytime i see the red box it reminds me of the old movies where old italian men had thier pet monkeys dancing around for pennies

I think we can be gratefull that the added scrap iron didnt destroy what was good about the square before the "inprovements."
Still looks and functions in exactly the same way as it did before.
    Price tag please?

Just as a matter of intrest i thought i should mention that the tuning fork sculpture has absolutley nothing to do with diana krall.
According to the notes of the regular cultural committee meeting on march 12th 2008there were 23 submissions for a piece of artwork for the harbourfront plaza.
For some reason the cultural commitee just blindly accepted what he parks department said and didn't even ask to look at the other submissions.
I have scoured the interent looking for the ad for the submissions for the artwork for the plaza but have come up empty handed, its almost as if there never was an ad.
The council approved the tuning fork on march 31st when the plaza was still called the harbourfront plaza, and that itself is an interesting story also for another time.
So isn't that interesting that the tuning fork sculpture at the diana krall plaza has nothing to do with diana krall?
