    Default Forestry and BC

    http://www.canada.com/globaltv/globa...est/index.html

This program aired for at least the second time on ch11 Global Currents. The first time I have viewed it, I'll be watching it again.

If you take any pride in being British Columbian and care about BC history, BC economics and BC people it is a 'watch' worth checking out.

It is an unbelievable snapshot of an important part of BC economy and the utter disrespect toward a select group of people who support the industry. Disrespect from Government, business, the public and unions alike... the people are fallers.

IMHO a side issue independent of the human side of this passionate story is that our public resource is being exported and in essence, the value stolen from the people that live here.

It is a sad synopsis of the current state of affairs, a political sellout, hypocracy of all involved except the fallers. This program shows the side of fallers that I have come to know over the years. The accuracy of this show is astounding.

I have nothing but the highest regard for the guys that drop trees, they have such a wealth of knowledge and understanding for the bush. Most have a genuine respect for the bush that makes the majority of environmentalists look like cubscouts.

A very personable and moving documentary.

Ha! That comment was awesome, and pretty damn true from the forestry workers I met up on the North Island. I'd like to see this program, thanks for the heads-up.

Here is something interesting about red cedar salvage operations on the coast of BC.
