Default Ok please help me with a Restraunt for dinner..

It is our anniversary this week, and we are going out for dinner.... was planning on going to Acme... but.... now I am not so sure... because of what I have read here.

    We love pub food, but are looking for something a little nicer.... not too pricey... {75-100} including a drink or two or three lol}
We have been to Soulas{greek} it was awesome but wanted to try a new place.
Nice atomohspere.. maybe a little quieter and romantic.....
    Anyone have any great choices???
    Thanks so much.

If you are looking for a good pub, go and try the Crow and Gate in Cedar, you wont be dissapointed. Its not fancy, but good old school English pub food, minus the grease!!

Thats about the only pub I would reccomend.

If you are into Thai, I would highly reccomend Kasira, across the way from Superstore. Very fresh and ALWAYS busy!!

If you would like more suggestions, feel free to ask!!

Try The Landing @ Pacific Shores out in Nanoose. Great place for some great food. Ensure to make a reservation on Fri-Sunday. And you won't feel out of place if you dress up. OH and try and grab a window table if its a nice night.

A little nicer than your standard pub food, local, reasonable, kinda small, cozy, British fare... The Fox n' Hounds on Milton St. across from the firehall.

Basque can be pretty nice, dining 'under the stars'

Firehouse grill might as well be a mirror of Acme as far as I'm concerned, but it is a place you won't feel 'out of place' dressed up.

Mahle House is supposed to be pretty 'fancy' - I've never been though.

The Bold Knight is another I've never been to, but I've been told it's 'the' place for a good steak dinner.

Then there's always the Keg. *shrug*

I would recommend going on a Wednesday, as that is Adventure Night. I haven't been....yet!....I have talked to and they have loved it. Reservations are highly recommended.

Not sure what posts you are referring to, but in recent weeks, my husband and I probably go to ACME for either lunch or dinner at least once a week. (it's conveniently located for us between business appointments and our home) We've never had a bad experience... it's classy, has great food, we love it.

Where's the best spot to park for the ACME?

The Mahle house is pretty pricey and it's out in Cedar also so that may not fit your request (like Cedar is far?), but it was a wonderful meal the one time we were there.

Had lunch at the Cactus club with a special couple the other day. It was reasonably priced and flavourfilled foodstuffs. According to the waitress' attire; dressing up would be a good fit.

Hey kittenface... go Robert Palmer lol
