As for some of the ones who are in their now its time for retirement New blood at city hall would be pleasant change.

If Angela runs, I will have to vote for Korpan for sure.

I like Dawn Tyndall and would probably vote for her. I thought the mayor thing was ill-advised last time and told her so.

Gord Fuller is a one trick pony and I dont mean that in a derogatory way. I respect the work he has done but, like Bill Bestwick, he is too much of a one issue candidate for me.

I wont vote for Lloyd but at least he is consistent

I hope someone talks Angela out of it. Running for Mayor is simply a lost cause and only aids Korpan in the getting re-elected, and frankly she stands little chance on Council too.

The only chance Tyndal has is running for Council, and after the beating she took running for Mayor, even Council will be a tough run for her. No one likes voting for a loser and that is the way she came out last election. Then there was that fraud allegation that came out in the papers the week before the election.

Gord Fuller is a single cause candidate for sure and that cause does not appeal to the majority in town.

Lloyd is another dinosaur whos time on Council has long since come to an end.

Korpan will lose even more support this election, should he run, as a large part of the 28% he got last time was from those that only wanted to see the conference centre followed through on. Now that it is complete those voters are looking for fresh ideas and will move there support elsewhere, leaving Korpan with even less support than last time.

Dawn Tyndall worked her butt off as a council member. Who else comes out at eight in the morning on a Sunday for an MS Rally?
I think allegations are not facts. I thought that whole thing was uglier than the sticker issue.
While I dont always agree with Dawn's stance at council meetings I do believe she does her homework and has Nanaimo's best interests in mind.
She is passionate about our city and willing to listen to all sides. She has probably learned a lot watching for the last couple of years.
A fresh face with good business and tourism experience would get my vote.I am tired of the same old same old. Lots of bright people have moved to Nanaimo in the last few years.
I like and respect Gord Fuller as well as Dianne Brennan. Mr Bestwick has impressed me at council meetings as well.
    How about Cathy White?

Dawn worked her butt off for Dawn. It was always her intent to run for Mayor, before she ever ran for Council and everything she did was to get her to that end. I have not seen her volunteer for much since the last election. Why not? Maybe because there was not much in it for her.

    Default Brennan announcing

Looks like the rumors are true and Dianne Brennan wants the Mayors chair. She is expected to announce this week and very likely tomorrow.
