Ethics
My guess is that you are suggesting that someone (in the city or bylaws office or the port authority) might be unethical. That would be more suitable then corrupt.
But then, that is just my opinion. . .. .

All i want is clarification. I am getting none.
What is Port Property? Is it a public space?
if city bylaws dont apply to Port property why do they give me tickets on Port property?
if I am not allowed to play on Port Property busking ot not why are other people allowed to?
what is a so called special permit ?
What is the process involved in getting one?
why do the police , the Port Authority guys only target me?
They dont come around when I am with someone else only when I am by myself.
Why dont they put their threats in writing?
I know what i am afraid of, what are they afraid of?
the truth is as I see it that busking is busking school band fiddle kids or whatever. if you allow one group to do it and not another it is plain and simple discrimination.
When you intimidate, harass and threaten a blind woman with post traumatic stress disorder for doing what everyone else is doing it is harassment.
I still have not recieved a communication from Mike Davidson about the incident that happened last Friday.
Again i thank God or Angels or whoever for this forum.
here we have a record of what happens as it happens.

It would appear due to the Charter, (The Charter between the Port Authority and the City of Nanaimo which covers bylaws and policing enforcement can be found HERE (.doc file) that the Port property is covered by the bylaws of the City of Nanaimo including the busking bylaws.
I would agree that if you might be discriminated against however without the City or the Port Authority's view, it is impossible to be sure.
Which 'Injunction" are you referring to?
In reference to why the bylaws office did not have information regarding the charter is because they are probably not aware of it. When dealing with City Hall it is often the case that the person you are dealing with is trying to follow guidelines, rules or bylaws they are not educated about. I consistently see this happen with many businesses although it quite often more rampant among government agencies.

[B]getting proper answers from any of these people about anything is extreamely dificult. Such as where does Port athority property begin & end? do the city bylaws apply to port athority property? does the port athority have the right to allow some buskers under the ice cream shop and not others? All these questions must be answered. During our meeting today with Randy Churchill and Veneta Roberge at the bylaw office Randy Churhill told Queen and I he was an RCMP officer during the time Adam Baker was arested and he insisted that Adam was never beat up while being arrested Adam told me a totally diferent story. Perhaps Adam was resisting arrest and was manhandled a bit by RCMP. Randy also looked very surprized when I showed him 1 page of the court proceedings I got this morning which a member of the court says [I]I have significant concerns about the underlying validity of the order of Justice Lander [I]That would be the court injunction Randy also believes that there may not be a valid court injuction as I never got the chance to have my statement of defence viewed in court by a judge. But within a week we will know more than we do today.

With all the unethical information that comes up from time to time against the local, national and global people in power, including and especially in referance to B.C. I'm afraid its more the norm than the exception. The word suitable confuses me, I'm not sure what you mean there. To me corruption always means abuse of power, twisting the laws and rules to suit ones purpose. If the powers that be were doing this merely because it is fun having all that control I would think we need a little maturity in our local leaders or authorities. If not for this reason it had to have included a payoff somewhere. Who and where then? We dont know if these folks are corrupt, suitable, unethical but like queen said, there is some discrimination going on annd charges of harassment. The parties directly at the blunt end of the bat want some answers and I think the allegations bear some looking into, untill the many questions are answered. There is some vulnerability on the part of these victims and justice requires that these issues be addressed untill the laws apply evenly accross the board to evryone. Untill then we are well within a bound of duty to "why?" them to a satisfactory conclusion.

John, the farmer, was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers (hens), also called 'pullets,' and ten roosters, whose job it was to fertilize the eggs. The farmer kept records, and any rooster that didn't perform went into the soup pot and was replaced.
That took an awful lot of his time, so he bought a set of tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone so John could tell from a distance which rooster was performing. Now he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report simply by listening to the bells.
The farmer's favorite rooster was old Butch, a very fine specimen. But on this particular morning, John noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all.
John went to investigate. The other roosters were chasing pullets all over the place with bells-a-ringing. The pullets, upon hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover. But to Farmer John's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.
John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Renfrew County Fair, and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.
The result... The judges not only awarded old Butch the No Bell Piece Prize, but they awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well.
Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making: who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention.
Vote carefully this year... the bells are not always audible.
Just a neat and apt little joke to lighten the mood and see if I can get a response from anyone. Life is harsh if we cant laugh, and laugh on topic. Whered ya all go, nothing new since early today hmmmmm, no news is good news?

I suspect that the city-port charter is subject to the laws of the land.
There are isuues here concerning freedom of Expression
The right to pursue gainful emplyment.
In my case as a person with disabilities there are also special rights and considerations.
There is harrassment and intimidation.
most important everyone has the right to be treated the same way.
The use of public space also comes into question particularly the ice cream shop as it is on a public walkway and a parking lot which city bylaws do pertain to as you who have gotten parking tickets would know.

kickadee I forgot to mention that my husband a longshoreman was killed on port Property in 1979. He was injured on july 3rd and after being in a coma for five days died and left me with three little girls under six years old and an unborn son who is 29 years old on July 28th.
his last gift to me was my beautiful guitar.
he would cry shame on all of them I know.

This explains the complex triangle of personal and public tragedy involving you, the waterfront and undeserved troubles. The soul and mood of your music is the child of this arrangement. You are working your way through it couageously. Keep going!!!
