Someone's trying to get you to rise to the bait they've cast out. Don't rise to it. Go get a T-shirt made--"PIPER = STILL FREE" That should fix it.
Nostradama , you may get choked at me sometimes, but I have to tell you I totally admire you. Ypu have more courage than most of the young whippersnappers I know. I bet you were a tiger for just back in the day. Bless you.

    Default Three things I've learned

    1. Paraphrasing my favourite Willie Nelson song: "Old age means having nothing left to lose." The only pink slip they can give you is a death certificate.

    2. It is better to die standing than to live on your knees. (One of my father's favourites.)

    3. The absolutely most damaging and hurtful thing you can do to your opponents is to laugh at them and mean it.

Well this thread has been idle for a while so it's time for it to move again, on post #673 of this thread i suguested that I would get Korey Korlek teamed up with a lawyer, Tonight as Lawyer Doug Christie was speaking at an event in Nanaimo he did take the time to listen to Korey's dealings with the city of Nanaimo in the clean up of his mothers property. Doug Christie will look closely at the information provided by Korey Korlek and it's a strong possibility that Doug Christie will be retained by the Korlek family to challenge the city of Nanaimo for there clean up charges which exeeded Thirty thousand dollars.

Wow! Not going to say too much on this. I did read alot of the posts pertaining to it and there were some post that really disturbed me. But alot of hear say, so I can not back it!. But if they were infringed apond wrongly they deserve to be heard by someone with the right stick and I wish them all the best. Many ppl go along with the lemons that are dished out to them but a strong backing of caring people can change their world!!

Hope all works out for the better!

I am not going to say much either other than to say that these people will be homeless without legal help.

Neither can the people who posted it in the first place. I am surprised they are not being sued because of it. I read a few allegations that were posted saying that certain people were out to get the property in question. I so highly doubt that. The piece of contaminated dirt in question is on the corner of 7th and Park in Harewood, located just beside a sensitive creek, that would have issues concerning any development there, as Korey found out when he allowed hundreds of cubic yards of soil to be dumped in there. That piece of property would not even be in the top 2000 pieces of property to own in Nanaimo. It's basically a slum in Harewood. Korey allowed his mother's yard to become a dumping ground for everything imaginable. He bares the responsibility for his mother's fate, as I see it.

Hoarders. Either they have a mental issue with the "stuff", or they are just plain lazy. I have no time for people( unless they are indeed mentally deficient) who rise up to fight something that is plain and simple. Clean it up. Nice folks or not.they cannot be isolated for their" yards" curb appeal. I have talked to a friend at City Hall, and as Smokey posted far back in this thread.there are Bylaws...heed them or you will be fined.

If there is something that needs to be done for the family assistance wise, I hope they use all facilities to get out from under the infestation. We all have seen hoarders, in real life and on TV....its a harsh reality for them when this comes to front...

I wish them the best, and hope it all gets cleaned up.aesthetically and personally.

    Default Consistency of application . . .

is a problem. There's a house that's been an overgrown mess long as I can remember. Possibly abandoned? The city's never done anything that I can recall, and I've never seen any improvement or clean-up, either. Why hasn't the city done anything about that one?

    New look this morning!

I agree Nost.there were a few properties in the North end here that were just insanely overgrown and derelict. They were this way for years, even after repeated warrants issued by the City. Finally, a team of industrious fellows came in with trucks and garbage cans and mowers and turned the places upside down. THey were hired by the City to clean and remove. It was done in a weekend, the places looked great, and the owners were presented with the bill. Both houses were on the market within a week of each other.Guess if you wait long enough, there is always someone to do your dirty deeds.
