    Default Stats in Tourism/Transportation

These are some of the news stories in the past couple months

BC Ferry Ridership Down 10% (reported Sept 2008)

Nanaimo Hotel Occupancy down 3.5% (reported Sept 2008)

Comox airport usage up 9% (Aug 2008)

Nanaimo Airport usage up 25% (Aug 2008)

Are so many more people really using Nanaimo Airport? The lowest price I could find on a one way fair on Air Canada(Jazz) was $146? Have ferry fares reached the point where people are willing to forego having their car?

Do you know whether that statistic refers only to vehicle carriage? Or does this refer to passengers?

I just took the ferry to LAdner via duke point yesterday. It cost $90.00 each way , more fropm the Duke point side because of the Port Authority surcharge.

The ferry was not even close to full either way. We caught the 8;15 back from Surrey side and it was more than half an hour late. Damn I missed the liquor store sfter a ten hour trip!
