So Diane Brennan has been seen palling around with NDP'ers - Titan5 thinks this is a "gotcha moment" Sounds like Titan has been taking lessons from Bill O'Reilly.

So, Titan, if you can't pal around with the MP or the MLA who is it safe to be seen with these days? Joseph McCarthy might be a good choice.... lol

Hard to believe the MP would select a woman to represent her. I guess if it had been John we would have been safe from the socialist hordes, right Titan5.

Well I watched the mayoral candidates meeting and as Mr Korpan accussed Diane of being involved with the NDP. Diane accused Korpan of being involved with the Liberals.

Gary was asked about being a member of the Liberal party by an audience member, not Diane. She didn't accuse him of anything, and spoke of the right to belong to any political party one chooses.

As for funding to tackle homelessness, this is a goal Diane has steadfastly worked towards for many years. She has stood up for the most disadvantaged throughout her career, whether it's politically expedient or not. She deserves a great deal of credit for bringing this issue to light.

Evergreen: I have one simple question. Who granted Ms. Brennan the authority to "represent the Government of Canada"? I must be missing something here, as I was not aware that she was my representative at the Federal level!!

And, even if it's true that she had self-interested motivations in accepting the part, how does that translate into "DIANE WILL BE A CORRUPT MAYOR!!"?

Random thought just now by us over a few beers:

If Diane becomes Mayor, and with Jamie as school board chair, isn't that too much power for one household?

What does one have to do with the other? There is very little interaction between the two groups.

At least they are both willing to get involved as opposed to people who just sit on the sidelines and criticize.

Had Gary laid a wreath representing the City, great I expect that from our Mayor. Diane is NOT our Federal representative and she was only able to take a prominent place at the ceremony as a result of a favour afforded her through her Federal NDP associate at a time she needs to be as visible as possible.

Diane has claimed her NDP ties will not interfere yet she takes every opportunity to take advantage of those allegiances every chance she gets.

Had Diane just shown up and stood tall as did the other hundreds that did, this would not be an issue.

If anyone allows provincial politics in it is Gary and the Liberals. With respect to announcements of provincial/federal funding and/or significant events in the City Len Krog is not even invited and yet Ron Cantelon is invited to every one. I am not referring to events in the north end that covers Ron's riding but events that are in Len's riding.
