Wow! I never thought I would get this much of a "rise" out of a discussion about bread!

In deference to tomorrow..."Yeast We Forget" and let's just let baguettes be baguettes.

wow...what a discussion....I am definitely going to try this place...even if I am not a bakery person...I like the idea behind this place and have had the chance to talk to one of the owners when this business was still in the works...Nanaimo needs as much diversity and choice in eating establishments as possible....maybe give it it one more try in a month or two, Grommet?

yep, I'll give it another time maybe sometime next year. Today, a friend stopped by with a loaf of the olive sourdough and it was very good. As I said before, I hadn't tried any of the bread. I did get croissants again at 7:30 a.m. to take to a friend for brekkie as today is her birthday. Again, they were wonderful.

I beleive its only been open a couple months (if that), so I agree that the "review" was a little harsh. I could see if the place has been open a year, then maybe the comment would be a little more warrented. You dont know how busy it had been before you got there. I think you should always give a place a second try, espescially if its that new

Actually the restaurant has been open less than a month and the demand was far greater than expected. It is my brother who opened it and I know he has been working insane hours trying to keep up with the demand as well as hiring extra staff to help.

Hopefully everyone will keep in mind that it is a new business and with any new business there are growing pains as you get everything figured out. Usually within a month or so everything settles down a bit so I suggest that the person who had such a bad experience give it a second try in a month. Even better - go in there and ask for Bill and let him know what your experience was. The only way to improve is if people let you know what works as well as what didn't.

Everyone else - Enjoy the food because he is a fantastic chef!
