    Interesting & hopeful.
It should be noted that the Cable Bay annexation vote garnered nearly 8000 votes vs the Mayoral vote of 9032.
The total vote however was pathetic.

Well Nanaimo has spoken, John Ruttan will be the new face of Nanaimo.
Not surprised Bill Bestwick recieved the most votes for council, as well as all incumbents having enough support throughout Nanaimo to be elected for another term. Nanaimo is satisfied with their job so far.

Nanaimo is done with Korpan and Brennan for few years now. I wish John the best of luck and hope the new council members are successful.

Well, I'll bloody well tell ya, all it took was 6170 votes to get a seat on council. Man, when a lousy voter turn out.

McNabb & Unger would be my list of renegades.
WE have a change but not a big one.
The Council will still be pro developer.
The unelected Council via Cable Bay Resort & Spa et al must be fuming.
A post election review of the contributors to the electoral hopefuls should be interesting.

With these results, does that mean we still have the "old boys club" on council? Will the direction of the city change at all?

I don't think there will be enough change....a few of the previous council definitely should have been turfed.........
