Thread: I am a coalitionist!

This coalition could lead to further declines in consumer confidence in Canada, which pushes us faster into recession. This could lead to less investment into Canada which will affect people throughtout the country. We have a chance to come out of this economic crisis with a stable banking system and government compared to many industrialized nations. This coalition government and the timing/tactics employed here will not give international markets any confidence in our government or economy.

Dion is not a leader, the Bloc want to separate, and the NDP is hoping to find some power, which I think will be overshadowed by both the Libs and Bloc if this coalition takes over control of the government.

    Default Is it time?

Now is a great opportunity for the formation of "Cascadia", and/or the Republic of Vancouver Island?
INMHO we have been neglected by TROC for too long.
ie: the under subsidation of the ferry system and the lack of maintenance on the right of way of the E&N.

don't worry, i predict this coalition will backfire itself, everyone has their own mind set, what governor general should do is lock all three parties leaders in a small room.
tell them to get mind straight, put our country first, work out something else before going out.

Democracy, hope, those are dangerous words, just think what Hitler promise German…
Democracy could simply mean nothing could be done.

What our kids, same as average folks want could kill them, now it’s time for parents=governor general, senators stand out and tell lower house, it’s time to stop argue.

Ok, If I am the share holder of Canada corporation, I would demand their effort to work something else, otherwise, might as well fire all of them.

i am not constitutional expert, this is just based on my understanding

this is sux part of Canadian politics, MPs are not allowed to vote according their wishes, which are supposed to represent riding themself....
Which means Jean Crowder is my riding MP here in harewood, my vote simply doesn't mean you are allowed to bailout none peformance businesses, however, CAW union told NDP, you have to do this, then my vote here in Harewood is basically wasted...

MP's are allowed to vote according to their wishes. The problem is that none of them have the guts to do it because we(the voters) will not elect an independent who has been thrown out of the party.

Its not a coalition. Its an attempt at a coup. flame away
I'm not so sure the population that voted either for liberal or ndp will like that the opposition they voted for will dissolve.

This is a desperate ploy, by desperate people.

Basically, Dion is trying to save his own hide at the expense of the entire country.

Imagine this, he does not have the confidence of the Canadians, nor his own party (thus, he totally bombs the latest election). So he plays on the fear and uncertainness of the Canadian people, and makes deals with other desperate people trying to strive for any kind of power or any kind of money in the form of kickbacks.

Do you really think that the NDP or the Bloc are allowing Dion and the Liberals to head this up because they all agree?

NO. They are backing him for favours.

Favours to Quebec, favours to labour.

I, for one am angry that these POLITIANS are trying to buy and bribe their way to power.

If this happens, I'll be disgusted.

By the way... The latest Governor General was APPOINTED by (Liberal) Paul Martin, and is was up til she was appointed, a French Citizen.

Soooo, we have a French Citizen, appointed by the Liberals, with a Separatist husband, dictating the leader of Canada through this tough economic time.....

Does that sound right to you? Not me.

EDIT: Oh yah, and those kickbacks, favours, "bribes", are going to be called "ECONOMIC STIMULUS"... don't be a blind sheep, see it for what it is. This is a power grab, using the current uncertainty as an excuse. Not saying its anywhere near the same, but it's a similar strategy in the USA after 9/11 attacks for the erosion of civil liberties.

    Default To be Governor General...

...... it helps GREATLY if you are a female visible minority and work for the CBC.
I would have added speak French, but I don't remember how bilingual Adrienne Clarkson was.
BTW this Gov General was a citizen of Haiti.
