    Default teflon and food health

Parenting may not be the forum for this question but my families health is a concern of mine and for lack of a healthy living forum...

Does anyone know about health effects of teflon cookware? Are these a health risk or not? Truth or urban myth?

I have seen a few mini documentaries about the evils of teflon.
i use my cast iron frying pans that i have had for forty years. they leach iron into food when you use tomatoes but I think we all need iron.

I am a little off the wall though I dont like micro waves and I cant stand the smell of microwaved popcorn. I only use butter, olive oil , peanut and sesame oil.

Wont eat at fast foods, I use almost nothing canned and very little frozen.
