    Default leadership vs criminality

    Blue,

Although Glen Clark was charged with an offense he was NEVER convicted and was acquitted of all charges! More here

Sorry you can not say the same for gordo! the serial criminal! Plus Glen resigned even before he was found innocent and that would be the honourable thing to do for any Leader of a party that is convicted of Criminal Charges, like Mr. Campbell to do. Don't forget the BC Rail scandal still in the courts and the investigations around Gordo's former minster of finance. Love that photo!

see for yourself, current government, not history!

They keep the legal aid staff busy with more serious charges.

To comment on the post by homeless - Gordo is not the only BC politician who has been in hot water with the law...let's remember those scandalous days of the 90's with the NDP in power... POWER CORRUPTS!

B.C. NDP candidate Larsen quits over drug links

British Columbia's premier felled by casino-licensing scandal

    Premiers resigning in BC

    NDP Candidate confirms past convictions

    NDP MP Robinson steals ring

Another B.C. NDP candidate resigns after marijuana video surfaces

Scandals, drugs/drinking, corruption, greed, no party is immune. Gordo set a terrible example with his DUI, as did Clark & Harcourt with their involvements in the 90's scandals.

Did NDP MLA Moe Sihota not get in trouble for wiretapping (cell phone conversations) and trying to use his influence to get a friend a taxi license or something?

First of all about the legal aid.Piper was on provincial disabilty and couldnt get legal aid when they wanted to put the injunction in place.I am on Canada pension disabilty less than $700.00 per month and couldnt get legal aid. Perhaps it depends on the case.

Kory makes very lttle money and I suppose it would be to his advantage to file as he would at least get a tax refund and Gst .

Titan 5 do you know about a case in 2006 Telus versus the telecommunications union?

An interesting day . There was no press at the court. Why am I not surprised.

kory handled himself extremely well . it was hard for him as he doesnt really understand what is being said in legalese.

i wonder where the cost of all this stuff is hidden in the city budget?
That lawyer was not cheap and now we have to do it again in May.

I'll keep trying to push it down, with my "teammate" titan5 LOL! (we are usually on opposite sides of the argument)

I was involved on an online forum back in 2000 when these forums were tough to find. They broke stories about the Liberals and NDP involved in fraud charges across the province. At the time no media outlets would publish the stories. These online forums are a great tool for early information, but the problem there lies in accountability. Quite often online is where slander and libel cases originate.

Flashing that photo of Gordo frequently is a diversion tactic used by many other political movements. I'm not condoning Gordon's actions, but when the NDP starts to feel the smear campaign heading their way, I hope they don't play the victims role.

    I ask this question:
What is worse: a person in government charged with an offense which is personal in nature (DUI, etc.), OR, an official charged with a public offense?(stealing tax funds, fraud, misuse of power for personal gain).

Power = Greed = Corruption - for any party!

Facing charges or conflict of interest and accepting goods in exchange for favours while premier differ from an impaired driving charge. Gordon Campbell admitted he had drove while under the influence and did not contest the charges against him. He went so far as to quit drinking. He handled the situation right away and it was over.

Glen Clark's case was a drawn out affair and Mike Harcourt resigned for something he was not even actually involved in personally but felt it was best to not have it drag on through the courts.

My point is that the Liberals have a present leader with a CRIMINAL record he received while he was in power. Let us not forget the ongoing CRIMINAL investigation over the sale of BC Rail. So yes there were terrible mistakes made in the past by politicians of all stripes but my POINT is that this is now and we must judge the current leadership not on the past but on the present!
