Ok so the police show up at 5 am, which is great, they pull into the driveway, flash their spotlight then pull out of the driveway. What was the point of phoning them if they're not even going to knock on the neighbours door and tell them they've had a noise complaint???? I'm wide awake, pissed off and annoyed.

Too wide awake to go to sleep, I'm going to be such a happy camper when my daughter wakes up at 6 with me haing no sleep.
Try calling Randy Churchill, bylaw manager at the city about the noise after hours. There are things that can happen. There are bylaws in place and these folks can be ticketed. Multiple tickets and the landlord can be billed for all the calls for service requests.

This is the thing I like about harewood, if you are lucky to have old-timer hippie neighbour, they do not care how you have fun in your own place. My neighbour is one of them, when I have my bonfire and watch movie outdoor. My neighbour was like, I think you should turn volume up a little bid.

At first, you heard so many stories that some part of neighbour, they do not like immigrants purchase property beside them. They think I might eat their dog/cat. Or any Asian looking guy might be dealing drug.

Defiantly I have not encountered those yet.

Some of neighbour should mind their own businesses, if they do not like and that and want to have more privacy, they should consider moving to single detachment house, somewhere in Lantziville or Cedar..

Look out a window, and they give you the finger. They do this to all nieghbors in your building and nothing is done with them. Bi-polars off their meds who just take whatever pain and apparently paranoia that goes along with it out on everybody. There is no way to sanely deal with the insanity of it all, but you cant get mad and do something foolish yourself or you will be discredited. The Animal police were going insane visiting our well loved and fed bunnies every week, but they have to respond. So glad I dont live there anymore. These are the true niebors from hell. I worry for whoever has them now.

    Default talk to your neighbour

I have a few Persian, Arabian friends from Middle East, I think a lot of them have a huge relief after first time touch drink or party, or girls hit on.

Some of them are loaded, if you have been to 241, even last night, I was surprised how they learn to be Pimp Pimp so quick, driving fancy car.

They are very friendly though, I think maybe you can try to talk to them once.

    Like, look,

“I know everyone wants to have fun, I do not want to make you feel this is kind of threaten or unfriendly action, however, please turn down a little bid volume, I have kids and most of people need a quiet place to call home, you probably know this is a sharing space. I wish you guys have a wonderful stay in Canada.”

Some of my Arabian friends were called terrorist at school, teacher thinks Turkey is a dirty place. It’s not good feeling, exactly like some people at work afraid of me, just because I am an Asian own a house in Harewood, they think those are profit I sold crack to 5 years old.

I do not think calling city bylaw, police have better effective than rather a friendly talk.
It’s too confronted, some of them already dislike how our society profile Middle East population as a hardcore.

Even me, when I first heard Arabian praying Koran, I feel uncomfortable, as a human nature, one of great experience is to test water of our uncomfortable zone.

I am going to Persian New Year this Saturday at Bowen Park, yes, I am not even close to Persian or Arabian. Just to experience a different culture.

Hey, it’s part of great Canadian Heritage to open the door for your neighbours.

Bamboo I've tried being nice to them. My neighbours have called the police on them twice, I've called once. We've tried reasoning with the landlord, nothing works. The renters don't seem to get it, they apologize but then do it again. Or they claim not to speak english very well. My daughter won't sleep in her own bed because they wake her up in the middle of the night. She's 7 so it's not like I can explain what arabic is to her. My husband's ready to kill them. the police don't seem to be helping. I don't think it's too much to ask them not to be noisy between 11 p and 7 am. Of course maybe I won't stop my kid from playing on the driveway at 7:02 am..it's within the bylaw.

You should not have to explain Arabic to your daughter. This is not a racial issue, but an issue of students following their own rules instead of societies. As a society we need to understand that teaching racial attitudes does nothing to help our community.

that's really sux, landlord should know this better than anyone.
i suspect landlord probably gets pay very well by those students.
how many times did police show up?

see, when i was exchange student back early 2000s, we only know school stuff, do not have money and time to party like that. I have never even smoked my first dubee until when i was 26...lol..

Smokey unfortunately I did have to explain what arabic was to her. They were scaring her by yelling out their front door in a languagte she doesn't understand. It's not a case of being racist at all. Her room faces their front door so when they yell out of it, it wakes her up. I don't think explaining what another language is is a bad thing at all.
