    Default Cool Underground Tunnel

This tunnel, built in 1907, is located at the end of Caledonia Ave. The photos didn't turn out as well as I had hoped but I'll post a few now and go back for better ones in the spring. Some mine portals were constructed in the same fashion providing brick work was necessary.

Correct. I scouted the area on the 2010 May long-weekend, and I was foolishly looking for a bridge where the railway crossed the Millstone River. I later realized that it would have been a culvert. GR74's picture shows that it's something a lot more historic than a simple culvert.

Area: it's south of the parking lot of the German Cultural Centre.

Cool little spot. I followed a trail downhill from the tracks to take some pictures. I will have to visit again.

Wow guys, I must say I am quite impressed. This thread has come a long way since it was started! I'd love the opportunity to tag along one of these trips. Let me know!

Yeah the good old Delorean. Let's just say I know where a few more 'unmapped' locations are now. Re-entry is a bit rough but your great grandma sure is cute when she's 20! lol

So it may have been the fog limiting our vision to 5 meters or the lack of some proper direction but when 2 buddies and I tried to find extension #8 workings off Spruston Rd today it failed pretty bad. Anyone have some proper coordinates ? We were hunting off to the right (North) from the pull out on the trans-canada trail where it crosses. Can anyone give any better tips than that?

You can also see the upstream end of that culvert, right by the curling rink. THere's a little trail - it's kind of a rough spot, especially at high water.

It would be cool if someone cleared those blackberries there, and installed a kiosk with some info about that huge causeway. I'll show up and swing a machete if someone else does the organizing.
