Since I totally just found this post, haha, like 3 months later, lmao, I'm so down for going to the mines. I adore things like that and then I can collect some dirt from there and hopefully crystals, and I saw that giant black diamond you were holding in one of your pics, I would totally carry one of those out with me, lmao.

I would imagine a place that old and with that much history would have interesting energies for sure. Just wondering. Really awesome pictures by the way, I enjoy looking at them.
I'm not too sure I could explain to you about the energies in the mine, it sounds like you know more about that kind of thing. It didn't feel haunted or anything and I wasn't scared to be there, but I could tell it was an old place and thought a lot about the miners who had worked there. I left feeling happy I'd found the place and have been to visit several times.

So you didn't get the feeling of being watched or anything like that? Not that it would be on ones priority list when exploring cool ass mines haha, but you know, just asking. Strange things linger in the darkness, I bet you could get some EVP if you tried. But again, once you open that can of worms, lol.

Yeah I actually did have a feeling I was being watched, but I also felt like I was meant to be there and dispite the fact it was an old, wet, dark place, it felt very inviting to me.

Hmm, how interesting. I'd be really curious to feel out these places. Do you get that with all the mines you go to, or specific ones? I so need to bring a tape recorder in there and a video camera would be cool to, put it on night vision, I bet you'd get interesting things. How old are the mines? Did many people die in them?

hahaha yeah that was a while ago. A visit down there is an experience you wouldn't soon forget. Both mines are in the same general area, would be happy to show them to you when you get here. With your interest in witchcraft and haunted places, I'm sure you'd feel right at home in an abandoned coal mine. Old abandoned and/or haunted places don't really scare me, they interest me.

That would be cool to look around with night vision down there.

Well people died in the mines all the time, it happened everywhere. It was a dangerous job, especially back then. Hundreds of miners lost their lives when they were at work. Most of the mines are in the 75-100 year-old range. The one I was referring to earlier is 80+ years old.

I'm not sure about the feel at home, lol. I use to go ghost hunting all the time and go to graveyards and a bunch of crazy stuff like that. That stuff scares and interests me. The reason why I stopped was because things would attach themselves to me and follow me home. And it was always not so nice things, haha. But being a cat, curiosity always gets the better of me and even if I just went there once, I would very much like to see what it's all about and to see if I would be allowed to go in is the more interesting question, lol. Bring a tape recorder and my camera and see what I could get. I'd bet for sure, there would be EVP. I almost always get voices when I went out on trips. I have some really creepy voice clips, including the most wretched scream I've ever heard. Spine tingling, lol.

Night vision is pretty incredible. I bet you'd get orbs and a bunch of paranormal things on tape.

What kind of mines are they? Were they strictly coal mines or did they mine other things? Why did so many die? What made the job so dangerous, other than cave ins I guess. I'm so incredibly noobular when it comes to this stuff haha.

Knowing the sheer numbers of deaths, I know I would get EVP. Very interesting indeed. I think my first real adventure in Nanaimo will have to be a mine, lol.
