They're out in Extension, the first definately looked like a shaft of some kind to me, I could be wrong but it appeared to have been pretty deep. It looks like they filled it in though, It may have been a vent shaft with fans, an elevator shaft, dunno. What else was going on out there beside coal mining? There was no water evident anywhere....

The Extension Mines were huge. I'm thinking they may have used these to take equipment down, we'll have to find out, pretty sure they were used for something in the mining era, I'll e-mail Garry, see what he says. There was no signs of coal around, but they may not have been hauling coal from this location. Yep, its in a clearcut....

So I e-mailed Garry, sent him a couple of photos, waiting to hear back, could be days. I'll let you know. Like I say, I think they had to do with the mines, we shall see.

The picture of the foundation ruins is really pretty. I like that photo for some reason. Don't know why, lol.
