I fiqured out why the angle was not right on those photographs. At the time of the pictures, Cameron Island was still an ISLAND .. . the end of what I thought was Cameron Island was where the Gabriola Building is today (the one to the south of the Beacon ). The docks might be on Cameron Island, so Riverrat, parts of your imagination might be correct after all . .... .

Simple way is to do some screen shots and paste them over in your MS Paint program. Save as JPEG and then put them in mydocuments or where ever. Crop them as well. I'll work on that if I get a chance.

Photographs of my grandfather at a mine, during the 1950's near Jingle Pot Rd. I'm thinking this is the Wellington end of Jingle Pot Rd.

Some 1950's road-trips, by my dad and his family:

I think this is Qualicum Beach, on the old Highway near where the 7-Dwarfs motel used to be. The picture in Dad's album before this one, was of a beach that looked like Qualicum.

Hi Flugel Horn. Kudos on the pics. The one of Qualicum beach looks to have been taken from the Shady Rest Hotel. Great shot. I love the pic from the Malahat. I guess that would be the "old", Malahat Chalet, and the 6 mile pub looks like the end of an old fashioned VI pub crawl. Somewhere I have a pic of the Old Mill Resteraunt back in the 50's or early 60's,(my folks owned it briefly). I'll dig.
Coming to you "LIVE AND IN COLOUR",from the BIG MOO!!;)
