Default The Safer Nanaimo working group

Now I need help with this one, Who is this group?
    Who do they represent?
Why would they have anything to do with buskers?

A report going before council on Monday from bylaw services on page #2 says Following the consultation process staff will prepare a revised bylaw for consideration by the safer nanaimo working group and recomendation to council. it is estimated the review process will take approximately six months.

Are buskers a threat to the community?
Are buskers still put in the same category as panhandlers?
Something does not feel right here can someone give me some answers?
They have nothing on the internet exept confirmation of a meeting at Harris house health clinic on December 22/2009 I'm confused.

The Safer Nanaimo working group is merv,Fred Pattje, bylaw, bike cops,VIHA,Gord Cote[harris house],city staff{J.Horn}. Formerly the downtown working group till people like myself told them they were not representing any downtown neighbourhood associations. So they changed the name to SNWG and Merv said to me "you don`t expect us to include all the neighbourhoods in our meetings? Do you?"
    Yes was my answer.
Gord Fuller and I did gain representation for neighbourhood association that are downtown on this group eventually.

If they are having meetings then where are the minutes? Is it public or private information? and why do they not have anything on the internet?

Private because of security details and ex:talk of RCMP wanting new CPS may increase rent.
    Panhandling has been brought up.
Gord Fuller and I just kept crashing the meeting till they invited us in. I believe Gord still has a seat he would be happy to tell you when the next one is.

My understanding is that this group deals with

    HOMELESSNESS,ADDICTIONS ABD MENTAL ILLNESS

I am none of the above I am employed, working two jobs running a six piece blues band, a Celtic four piece and a folk pop duo.

I am not a danger to myself or to anyone else except maybe City Council if they continue to place street entertainment on the same level as PANHANDLING.

i am absolutely choked, angry, mad that council has chosen this group to review the Streetentertainers bylaw!

The Nanaimo RCMP bike patrol are more of a threat to buskers than they are to the safety of buskers. I've been down that road before many times.

Queen he is a counselor and on the SNWG and always listens to your side.
Most people only know buskers play music on the street.
If you want change as I have said before "it is up to you".
Fred will work with you, as opposed to merv.
    Fight on!
You may get what you want.
