Miss piggy didn't wear as much makeup.
I watched it as I made dinner and it only furthered my earlier conviction that I'd rather poke my eyes out than vote for any of them...

Having said that the green leader had the best ideas, but didn't have the wherewithal to make her presence known ..
Campbell was the best at spin-doctoring and talking a whole lot while not answering the questions.

Nothing new, a two sided debate with a side show (Green). I wish there wasn't so much of the bitter back and forth the NDP vs. Libs created. Both Campbell and James shot remarks at each other rather than focusing on answering the questions. Campbell continually bickered about the NDP's lack of leadership and experience in economics, James frequently spewed rhetoric and tag lines attacking Campbell. My opinion of both has been weakened by this hour.

Jane Sterk had some good thoughts, but there wasn't enough time for anyone to go into detail. This debate was not very beneficial for anyone trying to learn about the party's platform. I'm not a fan of the format, too quick and unspecific. I wonder how others felt about the format.

I think I'll have to read up a bit more on Jane Sterk and our Nanaimo area Green Party Candidates. This is not a 2 party election. I vote for the Green is not a wasted vote. I'm sick of hearing that...Carole James tonight remarked at voters having a 2 choices, two different plans. It seems like she is really trying to downplay the importance of a third party. Not a fan of those tactics!

nobody touched the essential problem, recession, job creation, how to solve social issue like low income housing, mental illness.
Carole james has long been shot in her foot because of carbon tax issue.

I agree with you about the ineffectiveness of the format .... and, of course, right after it was over, the media were conducting their polls about who the "winner" was! Same old, same old with the media.

Regarding ONLINE polling, such as is operated by the Daily News and others, how "reliable" can the results of such a poll be, when an individual is able to vote ad nauseum on one issue!!

Funny I was thinking the same thing, the Greens had pretty much been an after thought before tonight ( for myself anyways)

I don't believe in wasted votes.
We all benefit from universal health care which was a NDP project
We all benefit from increasingly higher pollution controls, recycling & other "Green" initiatives.
Politically I think the Greens are good for "local" business & the best for the environment.
I will again vote GREEN but NO to the STV.
BTW, I did not see or hear the debate.
I do wholeheartedly agree with the petty NDP vs Liberal squabble.
    Neither have anything to offer.

    Your right of course Bamboo.

The reason is because not all parties were invited to that event!

The media is the glove that accommodates the government hand and if your party doesn't fit i.e. they are trying to upset the status quo they don't get invited, and worse they don't get mentioned in the mainstream. God forbid that the voting public should be given an alternative choice.

The CBC and mainstream media are telling the populace that there are three parties in the election, that is untrue, and by omitting the presence of the others they are not fulfilling their responsibility to the people of BC. It is no wonder their media empires are starting to crack and crumble.

It is also interesting to observe how un-democratic MANY of these All Candidate Meetings are. Many of them are controlled to the extent that they WILL NOT allow an open microphone (don't want to make their favored candidates look foolish) the meetings are stacked with mostly NDP, and Liberal members who monopolize the pre-prepped questions to their chosen candidate. This leaves the other candidates sat twiddling their thumbs. That is not democracy, and it is not an all candidate meeting in the true sense of the word. Rather it should be called an NDP / Liberal rally, the only thing missing at these events are cheerleaders.

Only ONE party dares to invite the the people of BC to take control of their government www.refedbc.com

The carbon tax issue isn't actually an issue at all anywhere other than the lower mainland.
Ask a Prince George farmer or a logger from Kitamat what they think of the carbon tax grab, or for that matter upping the Hydro rates to force more people to use heating oil.
People aren't as dumb as the media make out.
