You take stunning pics. But I can tell you I've eaten there and the food doesn't look as great as you made it seem, although I am fond of it there. haha.

The first time I went to Astara's I got a free shot of Sambuca. I was pleased. I like their food, they give generous portions, and it's reasonably priced, not to mention the staff are fantastic- I just wish there were more vegetarian fare!

took my Qualicum Dining out Group there tonight and it was great. One of those few times where you didn't worry if you'd made a mistake. Thanks to the wait staff and thanks to the kitchen who had the courtesy to split plates for seniors in the kitchen with no messy side plates to do it yourself at the table. 10 people who will go again!

Best place to eat in town. My granddaughter and I celebrated a birthday lunch there, Complete with unexpected candles on dessert. The best service ever in Nanaimo. I love every bite of everything I have ever eaten in this place!

We ate there on the weekend and were thoroughly impressed. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was electric. I've been recommending it to everyone. We will definitely be back!

Up to this year, agree with all previous +++++ reviews of Asteras, but the last two times we were there, the portions were no longer huge and the food was less flavourful. Hey, watch it buddy: my best friend Paris doesn't say I'm spoiled! Service still excellent. Could be like the lamented Katerina's. The cognoscenti knew that when the old lady, Katerina, had her chef's night off, there was a chance that not every dish not every time, would be perfect. Or maybe accountants got involved.

Last time I was there about a month ago...everything was at par compared to many times in the past....I hope they're not having to cut things back but I suppose either the prices may have to eventually go up or the portion size will eventually have to decrease....

Always great - always great food- always great service. One thing - I would like to see daily or at least weekly specials. Something different then is on the menu. Always feel like family when we dine there.

We were there last week and it was ol' faithful. (Okay, the cucumbers seemed a little less fresh, to be honest.)
But, no change in portion size that I could see. Still our favourite restaurant in town!
