    Default Unidentified falls..

Found this nifty little set of falls today, and snapped a few pics. Water was nice, and it was quite interesting.

It's up near the end of Nanaimo river road, behind a dam/hydro station of some sort. It was all behind some sort of graffiti covered tunnel.. Like that helps. Lol.

    Anyways.

    Thanks!

It was kinda funny.. my girlfrind got her butt kicked on the falls today - by a frog. Lol.

She was climbing out to the middle of the falls, so I could get a shot of her sitting on the rocks amidst the falls.. And a frog jumped accross her hand. She screamed, recoiled, lost her footing, and down she went with a skid and a splash.

I tried REALLY hard not to laugh, but was entirely unsuccessful. lol

here is another "secret" fall within the same park... it is a little harder to get to and requires some mud trekking if its been raining...

here are some shots I got of the falls. Its really not to hard to get to if you park at the parking lot across from the military school...

    of course!

It is right next to the cement "waterfall" by the lower reservoir (the ones actually posted on the map).... You'd want to park down by 6th street... hm... its pretty of hidden... as in if you didn't walk into the bushes you might not find it... but hopefully that helps...

if all else fails I'll have to draw up a map/and or show up there and point it out! haha.

Any chance you were out geo-caching when you found the falls?

They look very familiar and your description is very accurate.

Nope, I wasn't doing any geocaching. I used to be an avid cacher, but fell out of practice back when I lived in Edmonton.. I don't think I have the patience to re-learn everything at the moment. Lol

    Default Cool photo....

    Novus,

    Ah, i do love a waterfall photo .... : )

(not to let out any secrets, but hmmm...half a sec, f16?

Is this the waterfall that is located on the Chase River just above Colliery Dam park and below the #1 Resovoir? I've seen it marked on maps and if it's the one, I'm a gonna be up there with the tripod, camera, and polarizer tommorrow : )

    Cheers,
    Al
