    Default Arts/culture/music

Would it be possible to have a section here devoted to music and arts in Nanaimo? With the creation of the Beat of the Street society, as well as the busking thread being one of the most read/visited/participated in, I think that a section where people can post what's happening with regards to information forums, concerts, cultural days, busking, even what's happening with the different societies and where people can post updates on meetings, dates of different events, would be a great addition to the Nanaimo Information Forum!

A really good source for Nanaimo and other Island venues is Harbour Living Magazine. i use it to promote my band and find out what is going on all over the island.

Here are some good sources to check out along with advertising your events:

    http://www.tourismnanaimo.com/calendar/event/submit/
    http://www.harbourliving.ca/?gclid=C...FSKhiQod5Sv60A
    http://vanislemusic.com/index.php
    http://www.tourismnanaimo.com/

Along with free advertising in the Bulletin under the Arts/entertainment section and the Nanaimo Daily News: under community -what is happening. e-mail addresses are posted in the paper.

Another good advertising is on the internet: Eventful: http://eventful.com/

Facebook has many music groups that you can join to advertise your band or event on.
