so google employees just walk around taking pics?
A multi lensed camera mounted on a mast which is mounted on the roof of a car. If you see it, shout "Welcome to Nanaimo" and give them the Trudeau salute. They were in Victoria a few days ago.
Something foobar with that link in the previous post. I tried it twice, and it shut down Firefox both times. FYI
Something to do with a pop-up.

How cool!!!!!
There I was driving around with no pants, picking my nose when OH NO!!!![]()
(Insert obscure yet thought provoking text here)
The google car came through the Rutherford parking lot a few days ago while I was outside on a break.
As someone who plans entire vacations on Google Maps I think the streetview part is a really neat idea. I was a little apprehensive about my image being available to anyone on the web but the detail of the images isn't fine enough to really identify anyone.
I'm excited to see this when it's finally available for Nanaimo.
I saw it today driving down Terminal!!!!
Ya it drove down Neyland Rd and crossed Bay St as I was sitting at the intersection. I knew what it was so I just sat there so he could drive by and hopefully take a picture. I saw the car later going up Departure Bay Rd. It looks like a dark green Toyota Corolla with a black 4 ft post coming out the roof with about 6 camera lenses around the top.
I saw that car in Cook St. Village today, when I left Subway after lunch.
