I'm Dr. Des, new to Nanaimo about 11 yr. ago after a short 9 mo.stint on Gabriola, originally from Manitoba, but have lived on the west side of the east coast, and now the east side of the west coast as well as the most south coast of our fine country on L.Erie with plenty of time near the sea of grain inbetween, ( Alberta) plus Toronto, northern Quebec and the Okanagan.
I'm married to a wonderful, very creative west-coaster, also a member of this forum thanks to the relentless proddings of Stan the Man, (whom I am darn near as old as)
likes:games, cards, movies, books, fresh garlic (and other plant life), people who enjoy living, gardening, the varied bird life available here for our viewing pleasure, woodworking (when I can) hot days (which are sorely missed in this location, as I spend my life in the home business basement on those very rare days)
dislikes:guacamole,the bar scene, rude &/or ignorant people, rude &/or ignorant drivers, so plenty of targets in this town, or as another forum member says: the unaware are unaware that they are unaware
