Good point, I agree!I think everyone should understand that his contract was signed (and decided) much before John Ruttan entered politics. If you are truly upset about Jerry's compensation, you should ask about the compensation of any senior management position. I think you will find that Ted Swabey's, Andy Laidlaw's, Doug Holmes', Al Kenning's. etc. contracts all contain the same type of conditions. To believe otherwise is not informed. There are many things at the City that should be investigated and if you are truly concerned, I suggest that you investigate. John Ruttan might be a good place to start, by asking questions of him. I think you will find him approachable, and a good businessman. If you think Jerry's settlement was unneccessary, you should look into the other senior management contracts. I believe it can all be obtained through the Freedom of Information... But, don't just support Jerry, or complain about his compensation, without investigating what others may have, or have, received.
