I'm glad to see that this historical building is finally getting the attention it deserves. Now only if the new City Manager will see its potential and make a real transit hub there - yeah I know, foresight is not the same as hindsight...

Well, that's not really what I was getting at. The CofN needs to allocate the land. The RDN needs to work with BC Transit (they don't do anything without their support) and both the ICC and the Fed's (Historical Building Designation) need to cooperate and make this all work.

Anyway, I think you see my point.

Some updates from the Daily News:

So a few organizations are involved and the fundraising has started for the remainder of the cash needed to get this project done.
When the station is upgraded, hopefully the negotiations regarding the schedule will be resolved and the train can act as a "commuter train" to Victoria, which would also service the Langford/Colwood area very well.

I heard that they were going to start running the train in the opposite direction. The commuter train idea is a great one, and an overdue idea too.
