That is the text of a poster that I was emailed by the Nanaimo Canoe and Kayak Club, I thought I would post it here so everyone got the chance to see it (yes yes, double posting really, and Gerry will give me the smackdown for it I bet!)

    The club's website is:

(You know me - Mr. "Double Smackdown" himself.)
Au contraire - I am pleased when people post about relevant events happening around town. And of course I have this bias against watercraft; check out my "canoe-yak" - it's 5'2" long!

I like how you said 'au contraire' there - I had to laugh a bit.... Canoeing makes me think of French-Canadians!

..and that is the shortest canoe I've ever seen!

Haha just kidding, it's a normal canoe - it's just weird perspective in the photo.

I still look at the picture, and see the shortest canoe ever. Merci pour la correction!

Five Foot 2 inches long? That is a short canoe....

Would have thought it was 5.2 METERS long...
