NoProfit :: The Massive, NoProfit Productions :: Nanaimo/Courtenay
Dave has been spinning at electronic dance music events and club nights all over Vancouver Island for the past five years. Some recent events include “Chunderstruck” and “Break It In”. He recently had a run as a resident at House Ten85’s second room in Courtenay. He was a featured DJ on the second stage at the annual Carrington Bay Electronic Music Festival on Cortes Island this year and has played Soundwave the last three years. He also hosts The Massive, which broadcasts out of Nanaimo on 101.7 FM CHLY. His style is all over the map - breaks, electro, techno, and house - and he loves to rock a crowd!
Good to hear it was a good turnout!! Dancing is good when drinking is involved! Helps keep the crowd more alert and mind out of trouble. As for the good looking girls, don't be a bad boy! LOL
DEFILER PRODUCTIONS - Sound, stage and lighting - for all your events
November Rain the night before this might just kill me lol:
Kidd Richie
Chemikal
Ben Chemikal (real name Ben Hodding), was born and raised in Duncan BC, and constantly surrounded by music from a young age. After several years of piano lessons, he went on to play guitar, drums, and any other instrument that was just lying around. It wasn't long until Ben found himself amongst a vancouver island rave, and saw some Electronic DJing first hand. That was all it took to get him hooked on the idea of collecting his own vinyl records, and perfecting the art of the mix. Buying up Nuskool breakbeats and Drum and Bass at first, it was several months before he got into Speed Garage, 4x4, and 2 Step, which remain to be his signature styles. Shortly after that, Ben started producing his own Bassline 4x4 tracks, and after tons of bootleg remixes and originals, got signed to Bassment Projex, FX Logiks new digital bassline lable, as well as Nu Industry Recordings, which aims to bring out the filthiest electro, fidget and bassline sounds around, both in late 2008. Recently Ben has broadened his styles in his live sets to include Dubstep, Funky Breaks, Hip Hop and Glitch, guaranteeing his listeners a plethora of genres, original tracks, live mash ups and a good time.
Steve-0 of The Suckerpunches
One half of the now infamous Suckerpunches, Steve is taking this opportunity to broaden your musical horizons, bringing something a little different from what one would normally expect. This guy's musical arsenal is anything but conventional, spanning many a genre including bangin' bassline and tearout, booty breaks, funky-ass house and electro, some gnarly dubstep, 90's rave classics, speed garage?, and even some straight-up oldskool funk for good measure.
As founding member of the now defunct Tripthalight Productions, and the new TKO Productions, Steve has been responsible for some of the island's most memorable parties, such as the iParty series, and has been honoured to play beside world class talent such as ED209, Ctrl-Z, Screwface, and 30Hz, to name but a few.
Steve knows that many of you will be dead to the world after November Rain, and vows as his personal mission to make your tired ass go crazy on the dancefloor one more time! So come on out this Sunday the 29th for a few drinks, friends, and some unforgettable music. Make this weekend one to remember!

** Signal (formerly known as Dru Defiya)**
Known for his unique original productions and ability to read a crowd, don't be surprised to when you find yourself dancing hard like it's your favorite song when you've never even heard the track before! He played Soundwave this year as well as a number of all agers this year, and is playing at Hush this week, it's about time he come to play Nanaimo!

** Drute-Z **
He’s happiest when he’s rocking the party and, with so many smiling faces out in front of him, it’s easy to understand why. He started off playing that straight up house music but, schooled under some of the island’s break-beat masters, he added their influence - cuts and chops to a style of music better known for long blends. With his recent foray into fidget those skills have become all the more relevant and Drute-Z seems to have really found his niche. Expect heavy bass lines over head nodding 4-on-the-floor beats with a style of mixing that’s guaranteed to keep you interested. Whether you know him from Chapman Towers, The Barn, or his more recent series of kick-ass parties as one half of the In n’ Out Sound Crew, you already know what’s expected. He’s older than the back of God’s head. Come catch him before he’s dead.

Nu Industry Recordings / Plasmapool Records / DLP / Big Fish Recordings / Champion Beats / Play Digital + More!!
When asked "What style of music do you play", Jonny can only describe it as "BANGIN ****". It's this blend of Electro House, Fidget House, and Breakbeat, that has helped establish his presence in such a short amount of time. Although he had been Promoting and Djing events for several years, it wasn't until late 2007 that he decided it was time to start taking Music Production seriously. After 8 months of dedicated, hard work in the studio, Jonny was asked by Sango Music to remix SanteFe's "Looking Good", which gave him the confidence he needed to start sending demo's to other labels. Within a few short months he had signed with several labels including Cubic, Don't Look, Miles Dyson's Plasmapool Records, earned himself places on the Beatport.com, Trackitdown.net, Junodownload.com's Top 100 Charts and even reached 1 spot on the Dancerecord.com Top 100!. With 2009 coming to a close, Jonny has no plans of slowing down, with a hectic release schedule and his label Nu Industry Recordings taking the dance industry by storm, all he can do is sit back and enjoy the ride!
Keep your eyes peeled for Jonny's 2 new studio projects! "DISCOSUCKS" with Jef Harly, and "The Afterschool Special" with Toby Emerson.

---[[ Beat Junky ]]--
Dubhouse / BBI / 4TM
Duncan
Nick found the electronic music scene in 1989 & fell in love with the music right away. Back in the day it was all about getting your dance on, which lead him on to teaching break dancing through out the late 90's. In 1995 he started playing techno & house for house parties (all with 2 home CD players with no pitch control) but in 1997 he found D'n'B & made the switch to vinyl & at that point he became the Beat Junky that you all know today. The whole time the Beat has been a DJ his top priority has been his daughter & from 2002 he became a single parent so he has been very limited with his time & money, but that did not stop him from opening for DJ Raw, emptying the Dirt Crews dance floor & playing in almost every community on the island. He also loves to experiment with different mediums from Live Violin to Digderidoo's & a Turntablist which can create another unique sound to the music. For love of the music is what the Beat thrives on, as well as: good vibes, good people & the energetic crowds that this genre of sound may create. He would like to thanks all the people who have made his carrier such a happy and successful one! Respect to all promoters; DJ's; and DANCERS for without you this would not be possible!
--[[ Mason ]]--
Kittha Munha / 420 Kru
Nanaimo
Mason got his beginnings playing in an old record store in Fernwood. He would take to the decks every night when the store closed, through the night until the sun came up. Over his career as a dj he has shared the stage with some notables such as: Freaky Flow, Slip, Technical Itch and Breakage. After honing his skills for the last 7 years, expect nothing less than full out musical debauchery. He is well known for going mental and screaming things that you wouldn't repeat to your mother to get the crowd into a frenzy. Get ready for a Drum and Bass assault. "Street sweeper massive!!!"
--[[ Dirt McFilthy ]]--
Chillout / J-Gib
Nanaimo
After aquiring his first vinyl, Dirt McFilthy (a.k.a. Chris Rowland) has never looked back once. Pouring his resources and very soul into his passion, he relentlessly attacked the wax, aiming for the best he could do with what he had. Now, after much learning and many trials, Dirt has begun to push himself outward, wanting to Shake the Roof AND Your Boots off! Expect many vibes that will keep you Movin n' Groovin' all over the dance floor! Look out for this out of control DnB/Breaks freak. His blending styles of techy and dark beats will cause some shockwaves, from the ears straight down to your feet!
Straight from the torture chamber, this is someone to look out for in the very near future!
