    Default Deceiving advertising

OK ; I missed it this is hearsay.
Tourism Nanaimo advertised....get this......It's worth it.......

    Swim with the Seals!!

Come to Nanaimo & swim with the seals; you have to be joking.
When all said & done, if we can't attract visitors with the true facts then we have to .....lie?

We would not need this if we had a destination resort next to a Pulp Mill.

Yep, you can swim with the seals out at Snake Island. Snorkel swimming. . . cool, huh!

Now it seems that Tourism Nanaimo has joined in on the promotion.

I don't see what is deceiving about it though.

Wow, if this is a good run business, good on Tourism Nanaimo for joining in on it. It sounds like a unique business and I did not know about it.

When I was a Calgarian out for a holliday on Gabriola Island I swam across Lock Bay with a seal.
Then someone said swimming with seals is dangerous.
(pic) Keep warm, and winter well.

My peeve is that the advert implied that swimming with the Seals was akin to swimming with the "Dolphins"!
I think that it is wonderful that we 'generally' have excellent DIVING opportunities here in Nanaimo. It is an under utilised tourist attraction we should do more.
Divers come & stay in Nanaimo spending as they go unlike the cruise boat crowd who make passing visits buying Chinese plastic Mounties.
Sorry to hear of your swim in the sludge; perhaps you should go to Yellowpont next time or Parksville.
