If you can find even just a little time for these folks, it would be much appreciated. Part of their work is phoning seniors to check on their welfare and just to talk a little to them. I know for some seniors, it's the only phone call they may receive for days and days. If you're a "phoner", your ID is totally protected, no worries about that. They also organize some in-town trips for seniors, and things like a holiday/Christmas dinner that's held in advance, so you don't lose holiday time with your family. For some of their "clients", it will be the only holiday dinner they will have with other people. There are more seniors out there than many realize who, because of death or distance, don't have too much contact with any surviving family, and they are so grateful for the contact.
