10 gold medals now!!
Canada leads in gold medals won to date so far!
the story with the women could have shown themselves enjoying the hard earned win just as the men do after Grey cup etc, instead of making this seem in any way unappropriate.
Double standards are alive and well with the media.
Will they ever catch up!?
10 gold and Canada third in the overall standings.
Could there be another?
It is going to be hard for me not to watch the Canada US game.
Could there be one more gold, a silver is a given at any rate right?
I hope that womens team is at the game and ready to party one more time!
I am!

But don't do it on the ice where you won your gold.
Give me a break about the sexist comments .
Those girls were just stupid. All they had to do was keep their party in the dressing room and away from the media. To say that there is a double standard is just ludicrous.

Champaine and revelry accompany the Grey cup each year. The only difference I can see between that and the ladies situation here is that the ladies had the grace to wait till the show was over and people had mostly left before enjoying themseves on ice.
After the show was over the ladies celebrated. I cannot see why one is fine and the other not.
Fun is fun and there is not need to outlaw the ladies behavior while applauding the mens.
If there is some kind of rule here it should apply to all sports and both sexes.

The players drank cans of beer and bottles of champagne, and smoked cigars with their gold medals draped around their necks on the ice surface at Canada Hockey Place after their 2-0 win over the U.S. on Thursday night.
Among those drinking were Quebec City's Marie-Philip Poulin, the youngest player on Team Canada and its fourth-line centre, who scored twice in the first period. The 18-year-old Poulin turns 19 next month, but right now would be under the legal drinking age in B.C.
"I'm really sorry for what happened," she said. "I think we just wanted to enjoy the moment and that's just what happened. And it won't happen again. We've learned from that. We're just going to enjoy that medal right now."

I still say party there on - Go Canada Go!!
Sounds harmless to me! Hope you had a great time girls! Your moment of happiness and celebration was well warranted!
I don't have a problem with them celebrating a gold medal. Revelry after winning a championship comes with the territory, be it the Olympics or otherwise. I wasn't aware the arena was empty when they were celebrating. The celebration is pretty well a non issue in my eyes.
