Somebody asked if there are places in Nanaimo where people can use their barbecues. (Ideally near a lake or beach.)
They said:
"I found that BBQ is not allowed in long lake area."

Hrm, I guess you can use the picnic shelters at Bowen Park (I recommend the lower one, down by the Millstream).

Or maybe at Pipers Lagoon, if you stay at the picnic tables by the parking lot.

Does anyone know if you can barbecue at Diver Lake?
And what about Westwood Lake?

The best would be to ferry over to Newcastle Island.

Anyone have more ideas?
