Well it isn't scrapped if you read the latest news.

That said, I still think your negative energies should be put to better use than attempting to bother people like me that have some vision.

What is the latest news and from whom?

Did the meeting between the Snuneymuxw and Fisheries today help solve the standoff?

The last article in the paper quoted the CEO indicating it was just another hurtle. This means it is not 100% dead but is really close in my books for this version.

according to the news the cruise ship terminal in campbell river has not one booking for the cruise ship terminal for the year 2010
the terminal in campbell river opened on june 6th 2007
why should the fate of the cruise ship terminal in nanaimo be any different than thiers

and i'll tell you something else to, i am well aquainted with several higherups of the BC ferries and according to them there won't be a profitable or sucessful foot passanger ferry from the lower mainland to vancouver island for at least the next 100 years, not even to victoria
but yet theres people in nanimo who don't know what they're talking about that will try to have you belive its gonna happen

It will only exist when it is completed! Sorry but Nanaimo's pace at getting it done is slow with lots of huttles and $$$$.

And then drop the tourist on a concrete slab and now what? * where do we go for shopping and fun along with how do we get there?*

Lay the footings first, then the foundation and it should rise from there!

Campbell River was a victim of changes to the Cruise ship industry requiring a ship to make port at the nearest point of entry (customs) when entering foreign waters. From Seattle, this would be either Victoria, Nanaimo or Vancouver. From Alaska it would be Prince Rupert. Sorry Campbell River, but Nanaimo got saved by the 49th parallel.

Strange considering that the Nanaimo Express was quite successful after being started on July 19, 1992. Unfortunately the company also ran a money losing run to Victoria from Vancouver which stole the profits made on the Nanaimo run. The owners publicly made an announcement stating that if they had stopped the Victoria run earlier, the Nanaimo run would have continued. A lot of people involved with the BC ferries are only protecting their jobs and security in denouncing any other type of service.

I'd like to know which BCFS Exec's you know? I know the entire lot of them, some of them personally and they considered running a passenger only ferry from the new terminal we just built so I'm not sure where you are getting your info from.
